Ads enabled (YouTube monetization) (board meeting)

TL;DR: Ads enabled on most videos, there shouldn't be any unskippable ads (over 6 seconds)/annoying ads

As of 2022-09-16, ads will be enabled on most videos on this channel (some videos not comfortable to put ads?).
If you need to watch my videos but are held back by the ads, feel free
to use your adblocker on my channels. If you are seeing this post then at least  $0.01 has been "made".

Regardless, have tried to make ads less annoying, especially compared to the standard.
Most videos will have ads and videos substantial enough will have video ads.
Let's see how this goes.

Viewing ads (probably (new to this)) can help (financially) support me (maybe, just started).

Bing Soy TF ad Policy as of 2022-09-16, balanced around ads not touching the video itself:

⚠️=Enabled default, can't change
✅=Enabled manually
❌=Disabled manually
👁️=Hidden thing(?)

  • ⚠️Display ads enabled (ad above recommended videos section)
  • ❌Overlay ads disabled (annoying banner thing on video that you have to close everytime)
  • ❌Sponsored cards disabled
  • Video ads
    • ✅/❌Skippable video ads conditionally enabled (wanted to enable but remembered adblocker users+non-adblocker users and overall duration of videos on channel, maybe video ads on longer videos >1:30 minutes to at least justify the extra button click to skip ad)
    • ❌Non-skippable video ads disabled

    • ⚠️👁️Bumper ads (6 second non-skippable ads, found out about them after a few cents were made) (would like control over this, rather not videos play on the shorter videos)
    • Ad location only changeable for videos >8 minute
      • ⚠️/✅Before video/pre-roll
      • ❌During video/mid-roll
      • ⚠️/✅After video (most will be enabled and unchangeable by default, want consistent)
  • ✅/❌Sensitive categories - some blocked (see image below)

Ad impression ratio performance on 2022-09-17 (1 day of data): All video-based ads drastically outperform display ads.

This YouTube thing could end up being a job somehow. Lots of this is very new, but will try to do what I can to progress this YouTube thing/life. Possibly getting paid to do something you are competent at and don't mind doing is probably good.

Might consider some manual donation link eventually, testing waters, eggs and baskets.

Will this impact the video-making process? Probably not even though it somehow will, but will have to be (more) careful when turning on monetization on a video. If a video so happens to be able to be monetized, then ok. If not, then ok (still has to be "safe" enough to not be removed by YouTube).

Am not expecting to make anything much especially in this time of non-upload (supper singing).
Lots of learning to be done.

Why share this? Maybe against malicious ad practices and want to do part to do more ethical ad practice. What do the actions say?
