in the rare chance you see this (to [redacted]) (updated)

Update 2023-01-09: can't take anymore, need to change pfp now (the workaround of superimposing other stuff on top stopped working)

yes, 1 month instead of "few" months. rather want to be accurate but alas (learning more about saying stuff vs doing the thing). the need to express self via pfp grew and now overpower.

in retrospect, these actions to remember this person, even though a stranger, weren't so insignificant.
tributes can not only be for the person for, but also for the one making it.

time to move on but moving on doesn't necessarily mean you forget. remember experience, learn, life is contrast, be a (good (definition varies)) presence? learn to live with self? try to understand instead of repulsed by your reflection.

don't really have specific advice for this, things happen, people different, hidden reasons
best to be positive (or at least neutral) presence in something, live meaning/purpose, maintain your health

(would rather do this farewell thing private but didn't have chance to, so gave self chance, even if intended person not read)

bing soy was (still) hesitant too, and like you, in spite of that, leap of faith to express self

seeking connection, especially deeper after being disconnected for so long, no sugarcoat, painful. maybe one day not, maybe never, keep flowing

make most of whatever, no forcing do this, to that, when ready you will

in honor of short but impactful time touching timelines, will play few chess games (not really into chess) and get ass hiney kicked (and so it did) + few months of pfp, won't let you forgotten so easily

door will be left open, may be harder to re-add if name different future

public servers are private, leave (Φ)

to what extent do you push away non-friends (strangers) from playing with you?

what's the distinction between someone wanting to play in a server and someone impeding on your time with your friend?

what did you expect when joining a public server?

will you kick them/leave server to play with no-one so you can enjoy your time with your friend?

is it easier to dismiss others in the virtual space?

🥔

keep trying to find a place where you can belong in the world, if it doesn't work, at least feel some belonging to yourself, be good or be good at something

find a way to live with yourself in spite of chronic rejection – do something of value. example: questioning and philosophizing the nature of social interactions in multiplayer videogames and their cascading effects in the real world, while attempting to give life advice gives. if that gives you some sort of solace, then good, consider doing it again, you might get good at it, and if not, that experience can carry over to your next venture

make sure you keep educated about mental health, one of the biggest factors that affects you in every aspect of life. your mind and body adapt to stress, some better than others, some not so much.

if you find yourself fortunate to have to opportunity to connect with people, try your best. don't be too hard on yourself because it isn't helpful to you. if you connect, good. if not, then rest and try a new approach/go elsewhere

you can't take the responsibility of everyone's behavior/mistakes, it's not healthy

you will least you have deduced what people you aren't compatible with, not everyone is going to like you

put your life in order, at least try. start with cleaning/organizing your room (or affairs) as your room can possibly be a manifestation of your mind, reflecting your life. doing this may make you more qualified about talking about others' affairs because you will have taken the steps to put the work in to solve a very hard task. become a problem solver. life is not only dealing with problems but how you deal with them. would life have no purpose with no problems to solve?

humans and their social interactions, unfortunately and/or fortunately one of them

SC: Tksday

Video link

Made within day not worry about committing too much and getting out of groove main project,

Not too big on festivities, but this time, why not, show simple thanks
in video form to you (audience), sooner than later. Beginning of new
journey. Much work to do.

A main project take long time, maybe not as long in future when XP gained
from subsequent productions (making stuff before dying of old age is
good idea).

Taking on smaller projects/uploads on occasion to decrease
single-project burnout.
Initially didn't feel like doing this since will delay a main project
but more delay may be caused from (more) burnout, a big demotivator.
Water flow, crash.
most of any bing soy videos should be "thanks" anyway (making video for
people to "enjoy", not just thanks alone). blog seems preferable for more long winded things

Used SFM to make a gameplay-style video.

Made traditional (non-digital) drawing, more personal touch, not too hard/serious that would never be done.

Was originally going to end with a classic cliff-hanger thing but wanted to add more. A second part.

Making second part, was going to be something about both players dead. When doing a camera zoom out, reminded of a Breaking Bad scene. Don't want to spoil, (click here for scene SPOILER WARNING). Then this second part bled into first part, put dancing boombox demoman, inspired by magmablock's "Dismantling Detriment" SFM film (this part) (watched it many years ago, even before watched Breaking Bad) that references Breaking Bad as well (was initially putting that boombox demoman there as an "explanation" for the background music but realized (again) am too doing Breaking Bad reference with this boombox demoman too). Learned from this comment about the nature of the boombox demoman's animation and it's based on the conga taunt, with tweaking of course.
In retrospect, would've slowed down the animation to make the demoman "bob" to the song's BPM as a nice touch, more aesthetically pleasing, but you could interpret this as the demoman being very excited or affected by a substance other than alcohol (can include self-generated adrenaline caused by the nice music which he may find more pleasing than the usual person).
You may notice a looping error in the boombox demoman animation at the end, but instead of get too mad at that and reupload, it's a small mistake, learn from it. It also shows some human error and that this was indeed made in a day. Now it can be considered part of the "charm" of the video.
Still would rather not have that mistake present.

Linking/continuity examples (improving on this):

  • crow: eating some meat first part, then eating turkey from gibbed blu demo, turkey from healthkit Bing Soy huntsman sniper gave to blu demo to ensure a fair duel
  • demoman: blu team, song lyric "my baby blue" on zoomed in shot of gibbed blu demo
  • boombox demo: sound filter + panning effects to simulate distance walls affecting sound, goes from muddy to clear implying he ran down stairs to play the music for us to hear clearly for the last shot

Credits based on Breaking Bad credits, used a screenshot to make it accurate.
Vince Gilligan, Bing Soy - replaced first 2 letters for first and last names respectively.
Thank Andethson - based on Hank Anderson from Detroit: Become Human. Spelt it in a way to simulate a lisp to obfuscate/add humorous value.
In retrospect, should've put "Thank Schrader" to reference Breaking Bad character "Hank Schrader" but too late, can't be reuploading for every small thing, otherwise nothing may get done.

Title: thanksday ➡️ tyday ➡️ tday ➡️ Tksday
A more unique/slightly obscure way to say thanksgiving day.

Be on the lookout for "easter eggs", usually put them somewhere sometimes obvious, sometimes not.
Want to retain/leave some of the "magic"/"wonder" of them for viewer.

PSA: Backup your work

Woke up to this:

Not something one is eager to see

First, tried to keep calm and solve problem before being stressed (further).

Fortunately, was an easy fix. PC booted from wrong drive (don't know why), so unplugged external drives and worked again. No data was lost.

Video link: "How to Fix Operating System Not Found in Windows (No Bootable Device)" –  EasyTechs

Problems seem to follow in succession, so probably be more frequent with making backups – definitely don't want to risk losing months/years of work, however unlikely.

Have been working on sorting files and backups, on top of video making. Having sorted file structure and having that backed up is very helpful to preserve your hard work and in the case your work somehow gets destroyed, you can rebuild more easily should you have to change PCs.

The more substantial/important your work is, the more you should look into securing it (to a higher degree). It's not too late to start backing up your work. It's not ideal to redo work you've already done. Insure your sanity and backup your work.

how to backup your work - search on YouTube

Get a reliable high capacity external HDD:

  • great for space intensive work (like video projects, game projects, people who rely on computers for their work)
  • cheaper than SSD per byte (but slower file transfer/read)
  • just drag your folders in there at wait
  • long life

USB stick/flash drive

  • compact, convenient for travel, good starting option if don't like the bulk of HDD
  • cheap (at least the lower volumes)
  • quick transfer (compared to HDD)

Other storage options: CDs, cloud, SSD, microSD (space efficient, combine with microSD to USB adapter?)

Would really like to release a video have been working on a while before PC has another problem that may prove more inconvenient. Although problem easily fixed, wasn't pleasant feeling to have months of work possibly affecting life to high degree coming close to being "threatened" (see this post).
Mental health is very important, affects video production. Some have better tools some don't and have to be more mindful of limitations (you should be mindful of limitations regardless).
But we seldom have no choice in what inconveniences meet us in life.
Regardless, will be streamlining project/folder structures/backup process to make possible PC/data loss inconveniences less inconvenient.

This is a reminder that electronics do fail, like anything else. Also a reminder to not let these things stop you. You will inevitably come across many problems in life which will slow you down (goals), but you will move forward and strive to become a great problem solver (alternative not ideal).
Not everyone will be great problem solvers at first, so help others if you are able, in whatever way you can.

Problem solver example

P.S. Some software wasn't working as well (Razer Synapse), tried to troubleshoot to no avail, ended up somehow triggering windows update which manually interrupted (bright idea) since don't like them. After that BSOD, then had to go on another PC to download windows iso on USB, then PC used the USB drive to repair, back to square one. Maybe an update will come, don't like macros being messed with, makes everything less efficient, therefore less likely to do. Try to avoid interrupting windows update if you can. Windows stubborn. But maybe Bing Soy more stubborn, will have to keep pushing forward, possibly making YouTube viable thing, financial security, making equipment failure less worrisome.

(Incomplete, Brief) Debrief of "The Story of TF2's Strangest Player" by elmaxo

Video link

(not sure if will share the exact though processes but there's lots not said, maybe a future video will help be a step toward more info here should decide to go deeper/personal)

the point here is to voice things not obvious, looked over. overall, positive outcome (bing soy video will reflect this, follow up, maybe felt video take too long and make this blogpost for now even though preferable video). maybe good to whoever reads this and want to make story about a person, with more considerations. and maybe good to voice some objection rather than not mention, showing nuance. silence is often mistaken. maybe also good for people for people who think video is too one-sided/creepy (which it was a little, but wasn't that bad).
lots of them below points made using empathy and elimination of doubt with dialogue:
(probably missing stuff but here is main stuff)

  • maybe the framing of the video of investigation and hinting of "arg" misled people, made too dramatic but there is a showmanship element of making videos, almost as if to really sell the video. "mysterious" person gets a "mysterious" theme video, fair enough. maybe not so much bad thing with the misled people, they make up minority among positive/good faith reception and they are thinking which can lead into eventual understanding. did/am still learning faster than ever expected to mentally deal with the things that naturally come to you as a youtuber.
it feels like a discourtesy, rather not do it because know how it feels to not be considered but have to take non-constructive+shamelessly rude people less seriously because it's not helpful and feels like obvious scam to farm grief, some know it, some don't. basic rules of life, show respect and you are worthy of respect, be serious and be taken seriously.
  • the drawings helped immensely show human element unable to be shown by words alone, drawings can help break communication barrier if unable to use words
  • knew could be recorded in "interview", still would've liked to be in the loop or courtesy message saying it will be used. uncletopia is like public arena but at time was only 2 plr, felt more like private conversation
  • should've asked for image plainly and for what use, transparency, trust, build rapport
  • should've send fr earlier, especially considering topic of video, you may come to find they were waiting the whole time. didn't ignore fr, wondering why after all this time.
  • keep subject more in loop, let them see video in advance a week or so, especially if appears to be less extroverted and not currently "popular", mental preparation for increased attention, possible feedback, mutual agreement
  • talk to subject/person, good practice. there may be trouble with infinite feedback loop of silence where both parties are too scared to initiate/respond to messages or too busy or are sick or don't trust each other enough due to lack of interactions which are vital to build rapport over time. silence can be peaceful but also deafening. what's the worst that could happen, awkwardness, chance to learn, mutual benefit? not only starting a "relationship" but developing it?
  • act in way that ensures subject feels undoubtedly considered, human.

[may or may not explain perspective and why did certain things future expand this post, for now use empathy]

don't like stating it again, bing soy is ok with video. actions and intent (of good faith) matter. some things could've been done to make it smoother but life is at times messy ball of nuance. could worry about shoulda/coulda/woulda, but what are you doing now? the past can't be altered (and shouldn't - violation of time law, changing your past inevitably means unwittingly changing a lot more than you can imagine) but you can change the future. story far from over. lots to do. thanks elmaxo.

TF second channel: bhopmktgarden+koolragdoll

Video link

Some stuck glitch thing where shift key is "stuck" (still considered "pressed" when alt-tabbing) and you have to press it to release it then your function keys that may or may not be bound to your demo recording command demo record bind works again.
Fortunately, OBS was running so was able to get a screen recording.
Probably more a Bing Soy problem - rShift is rebound to winKey. Right shift gets used a lot, along with alt-tabbing to sort demos on folders.

It's not preferrable for Bing Soy to use screen recordings (there may be special exceptions) for the main channel so here it is on second, and a ragdoll clip to boot, since they are unique and demo files don't perfectly replicate a ragdoll.

Credit to KnowZero (healer/moral support in the video).

Video was supposed to be just simple upload of these clips, but led to some edits and those edits led to more.

[add additional commentary here once video out for a few hours/days]

Nov 3 BS, sunglasses meets grasses:

What was supposed to be a simple second channel upload turned into something more. The ragdoll had a funny cool pose, so that "thug life" meme would probably compliment it and be a funny addition.

But those glasses reminded of something. Grasses. Something you put on so nothing will be wrong. Maybe the thug life meme was too obvious, so let's subvert both the viewer and own expectations into a little berserk OP thing/tribute/parody (is this a one?)/concept.
Berserk is nice (only watched first season of the anime), nice enough to to this thing. Something to do with the characters feeling more "real", confronting and persevering through complex issues, actual stakes. People probably resonate with Guts (reject, finding meaning/purpose, becoming better/good at something, proving self, mistakes/flawed character, great battle, empower others, sheer will, fighting, not give up (a literally me moment or understanding/identifying with aspects of character, further understanding self), is any of this resonation apparent from this simple "meme" choice? Perhaps more major projects will serve as a better conduit for deep emotions, those things (or lack thereof) that humans seem to have which affect everything they do.
Also opportunity to work on SFM skill/workflow, even if it's small project (small projects faster/more likely done than big projects).

Game audio sucked, turns out Equalizer APO
affects OBS recording, had to counter-compensate the EQ curve
(faulty headphones at the time)

Referencing original media, learning from it

Referencing

Japanese speakers will be able to read the basic/broken Japanese text, especially the part that says:

おらはにほんごわるい
すみません

おら (ora) is a misspelling of おれ (ore, meaning). Ora is probably more of a sound/exclamation, probably more suited to be in katakana (オラ), which seems to be used for foreign/onomatopoeic phrases.
This was a mistake just now seen (always proof-read), still have long way to go for learning Japanese (especially if really want to learn). Am familiar with JJBA (anime) and the "オラオラオラ", but this time sure was just coincidence, though things can passively influence you (see below). On the topic of オラ and JJBA, here is a nice song.

What was initially supposed to be written was this:

おれはにほんごわるい
すみません
which means:

I Japanese Bad Sorry
OR
My Japanese is bad. Sorry.
OR
My apologies, my Japanese is bad.
OR
Excuse me, my Japanese is bad.

More breakdown from noob JP learner:

おれ (ore: me/I, less formal, more masculine)
    は (ha->wa: joining particle?)
    にほんご (nihonji: Japanese language)
    わるい (warui: bad)
    すみません (sumimasen: soft apology/excuse me)

Even with a misspelling, the meaning can probably go through/approximated like how a fluent English speaker can sometimes see what a writer meant, even through a typographical error.

Not completely sure, but making a TF2 anime opening may have been inspired in part by KnowZero's TF2 bebop intro interpretation.

[On the topic of the thug life meme, specifically the cannabis/marijuana blunt]
Maybe being against smoking, (even if making a meme) pushed the video a little closer to this thing of changing the "meme".
Is smoking really as cool as we think? Whatever your vice/medication/option of administration, try to be informed and educated on what you put inside your body. Prolong your life (without necessarily making it lesser). Quit (slowly) or find a safer method/alternative. With that said, humans have been using various substances throughout history, there might be more to this than just having a straight-edge perspective on substances. Also life throws you all sorts of curveballs, and sometimes people look to substances to help deal with situations, temporary or not.
Examples of alternatives: cannabis smoke vs cannabis vapor (actual vapor - dry herb, not oil cartridge) or oil tinctures (avoid lung administration altogether), nicotine tobacco smoke vs nicotine tobacco snusing, high caffiene content of coffee vs lower caffiene content tea, coffee everyday vs regulated sleep schedule, high sugar soda vs sugar-free soda or the time-tested plain water.

Don't forget you are your own figurative "drug" - your behavior affects your body's chemical regulation to a degree too, for better or worse. Something about instant gratification, addiction, routine, etc. Remember to always consult your doctor if possible about medication if you have any doubts or need help.
Can't tell you do this, do that, but you may have options you don't know about. Consider and empower yourself.

Didn't want to initially spoil the Berserk intro thing, as it may have taken away from the initial surprise also self-experienced.

Where's Guts?

Not sure if this is an achievement but become first post on the r/unexpectedberserk subreddit.
Was curious if that even existed when checking after most of the video was made, so might as well make post there.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but did a omission of mapname in timestamps, probably berserk watchers/readers will get it. Do remember a comment saying that they like easter egg stuff, maybe a balance and some hinting instead of not mentioning the less obvious stuff/secrets? Does it take away from the "thrill" of finding a "funny" secret?

Even though only experienced but a fraction of your work, thanks Miura.

Comment RE: ca7x3 copyright help - composition claim, is legit (+ other ways to earn money as YT partner or not)

2022-10-19 NEW DEVELOPMENT, ignore initial "advice"

When listing additional links that show other's
experiences with related issues, Bing Soy watched through this video, involving a false composition claim for a "Metal cover" when the original soundtrack was used. That made him double check the text of the claims. Now everything has become more fishy.

"Why you can't trust the Undertale soundtrack (And why the YouTube copyright system is messed up)" by flmejndor

Suspicious

What now? Guess
you can try appealing it, try to find the closest dispute type,
questioning whether is is the real copyright owner (Toby Fox) but this
matters more if you're able to make money off it and if not bothered to
deal with it, there shouldn't be ads anyway due to seeing the
monetization off by default for this specific and possibly false
claim(s), especially the "Metal Cover" claim you see in the above image
(middle).

Try bringing up that you used the original audio, not a cover which this
claim seems to be doing. This seems like one of those claims due to
incompetency of the claimants AND broken YouTube system part more than
actual malicious intentions.

Not
sure if there's anything malicious that could happen by disputing it,
since you aren't partner, the only personal info you possibly leak is
your legal name. Wait, another development. Doing tests again.
Found
out you can see who's doing the claim but it's almost "hidden" because
you have to go make a dispute to even see it (don't have to submit one
straight away) - that's questionable design. The common publisher
claimant observed is "Materia Music Publishing", the same name that appeared in aforementioned video.

Claimed by Materia Music Publishing

Claimed by Materia Music Publishing

Did more research - a search of "Materia Music Publishing undertale youtube"and found a reddit post about someone having a copyright issue with them:
—materiacollective reddit account (RE: A company named Materia Collective LLC has been claiming my videos recently) 2019-07-19
Now more curious, more research let Bing Soy to this page:

By "dispute", not really sure if they mean to use the YouTube dispute or to use their contact form. Not sure if "gameplay footage" can include games that aren't Undertale or Deltarune. There's only one way to find out for sure. Hopefully they won't do anything dumb like strike your video and rather just tell you whether your use is approved or not and free the claim if it is. If not, your video should still be up (as stated in their FAQ).

All this research led us here, seems like it's legit. Would've saved some time if more information was easily available (including website links/contact info, to at least have more info to go off).

A bit of post-research to see ad status of other videos that use Undertale/Deltarune music:

Ads are allowed on this playthrough of Deltarune by popular YouTuber
"UNDERTALE 2?! | Deltarune - Part 1" by jacksepticeye

Undertale music being used with TF2 footage - ads allowed
but there are other copyrighted tracks, so maybe not good example,
less certain if ads only go to copyright owner and 0% for Uncle Dane
Video: "More Scream Fortress" by Uncle Dane

End.

(scroll down for some other methods to earn money, don't necessarily have to wait for YouTube partner)

2022-10-19 INITIAL POST (spectulation on incomplete picture of situation warning, see above for more accuracy clarification)

🚨 Disclaimer: Bing Soy is not a legal expert nor an expert at dealing with YouTube issues (yet (not the legal expert part)).

"As mentioned on my previous comment, do you have any advice on what steps to take to remove fraudulent claims? Still struggling quite a bit on what to do with my video, it got claimed for a Toby Fox song despite it being non-copyright, so maybe you'll know what to do as a similar thing happened to you?"

screenshot of copyright dialog of video "TF2: The Hot Hand™" by ca7x3/λlex sent in by them

Due to the lack of monetization option shown here, it's safe to assume monetization isn't enabled on their channel. Sure, the video may be fine when it comes to being up but we must know more.

To get to the bottom of this, Bing Soy re-uploaded this video by user Misaki of the exact claimed track "Death by Glamour" on his channel to see what this claim looks like on a channel that has monetization enabled (see image below for criteria, may be a bit brutal for starting YouTubers looking to make it their living, see further below for alternate revenue streams)

2022-01-24: screenshot before TF channel has monetization enabled,
criteria of becoming YouTube partner (ability to monetize/make money of your videos)

The upload test using claimed track "Death by Glamour" by Toby Fox:

Hovering over the icon reveals that this is a "composition claim" -
the melody itself is copyrighted (might be legit and intentional)

"Authorised"? Possibility to share?

Says something about "cover" but theres no further information
Not sure if it's just default text and not sure if sharing option encompasses uses like gaming

Enabling monetization,
not sure if anything bad can come from this,
"surely" it's fine since you and the original composer is getting paid?

Window that comes up to determine which ads (if any) will be played on your video
(some trust system thing that tracks your reliability of declaring videos
safe for advertisers, YouTube probably want to appease the advertisers)

Video should now "share" revenue earned,
though not sure about the revenue split

Other workarounds/methods of revenue:

  • set up donation link in description for viewers to have option to support you
possible options (some of many, do research on them, find more, see what you like/trust)
  • upload video (without publishing) with the music you want to use first,
to be informed whether or not the video will be
monetized/claimed/allowed to be kept up and whether you're ok with the
video being a "freebie", whether or not you want to pick another music track that won't be detected by copyright so you can keep "100%" of profits (technically 55% for you, 45% for YouTube default), uploading first without publishing can also help with whether the video will be allowed to be up in the first place due to copyright issue legit or not, can be more convenient to solve copyright issue before official upload but can be annoying since you may want video up ASAP to show fruits of your labor
  • (requires YouTube partner) Memberships and Supers (see below), YouTube takes a 30% cut of money made this way

Way for people to show support with custom emoji, "perks", badges

Way for people to show support with a highlighted comment

another test uploading the λlex video in question itself

As you can see from another test (see above), uploading the exact video to make sure, you should be able to monetize (share), channel "not affected" meaning no strikes meaning your channel should be fine, video visibility is unaffected (it would show private it there was problem). So concern here not so much about having a problem, the system it telling you that that certain composition is detected (correct) and will let you keep the video and be able to share monetization with the original composer.
But monetization requires you to be a YouTube partner.

The "Copyright claim" text may worry you but should be leave it as is
since (see above) channel is not affected

In the meantime, the video should have no ads because by default since that composition isn't monetized at all unless you enable it, and in that case it will share the revenue with Toby Fox (probably). The revenue split may be more of the issue here.
This is one of the less worse claims you can get, compared to getting a truly false claim.

This post is written assuming this is a legitmate claim, it's hard to sell when you can't even see any information as to who's claiming it and on whose behalf. If you're really bothered you can attempt contacting relevant people to find out if it's truly legitimate, but can imagine that being a slow and possible waste of time due to difficulty to reach people.
YouTube should be providing useful verifying info that legitimizes claims or at least make it easier to tell whether it's fake or not. YouTube's track record for features isn't too good (like complete removal dislike bar, not even a choice, bring it back with this third-party browser plugin), people bring issues to light all the time (especially copyright) but YouTube doesn't seem completely on top of things. Short staffed? Red tape? Company politics? Who knows.

Hope this was helpful in someway and possibly others who may have a similar copyright issue, despite being new to being a YouTube partner that hasn't personally dealt with a lot of copyright issues (yet). Seems like there's some grey area to consider when it comes to dealing with these things (do you have the power to dispute this, is it worth disputing, do you want to allow this seemingly legitimate claim to share money with someone whose identify you can't verify?, is your time better spend re-doing stuff because that's more effective than trying to appeal in a broken system). Can only imagine the problems grow worse the more you grow but will that stop you?

Wonder if YouTube will be more fair/have a better system in place than minimizes misuse and for copyright enforcement be revised in general on YouTube and law-wise to be more considerate of this new era of sharing stuff and remixing to makes something new. It would help people focus more on making videos instead of being worried about treading lightly (one may say don't know what am talking about, fair enough, but we see what we learn in the coming years).
